A WRINKLE IN TIME 50th Anniversary Party

Celebrate this landmark book with a party that will include viewing of a bookstore-only event live streaming from NYC featuring readings by celebrity authors, including Rebecca Stead (author of the Newbery-winning When You Reach Me, an homage to Wrinkle) and Asheville native Hope Larson, whose graphic novel adaptation of Wrinkle comes out this fall.

Lots of cool giveaways and door prizes, refreshments, and more. Free. RSVP not required, but only those who follow this link to pre-register will be entered to win a drawing for a Wrinkle in Time t-shirt!

Drawing takes place at the event, and you must be present to win. There will be a separate drawing for the WIT tote bags we are giving away–you can register for that drawing at the event.

Update: the publisher is planning to send a camera crew to film Spellbound’s celebration, and footage from our event may be seen later on national media outlets as part of the publisher’s publicity launch for the anniversary of A Wrinkle in Time. So dress nice and comb your hair!

Art with Heart Valentine Art Workshop

A joint event brought to you by Spellbound, ZaPow, and the Asheville Parks, Rec & Cultural Arts Department.
The Easel Rider Mobile Arts Lab will be parked in front of the store and local professional artists will be on hand to help kids create their own fabulous valentine art, be it old school valentine cards or whatever they can think of. (Please note: this will be a very “boy-friendly” event, per one of our art instructors!)

Kids can have their work featured on the front gallery wall along with the ZaPow artists’ “Art with Heart Show”  or they can take their art home with them.
