Spellbound

In honor of Hug a Monster Day, Spellbound is hosting a monstrously fun party for kids from noon until 3:00 pm on July 27th (during Bele Chere).

Bring your spooky toys, dress as your favorite monster, or just come as you are. We will have a monster-themed story time for the little ones, and monster-themed crafts for everyone. A photo booth will be available to capture the moments. Additional monster toys will be provided for hugging, in case you don’t want to bring your favorite monster friend through the Bele Chere crowds.

Hug A Monster Day is sponsored every year by Stuff Monsters Like.com, the blog that reminds everyone that it’s okay to be afraid, as long as you are laughing. It’s the holiday that reminds us all to embrace the monsters in our lives. Participants are encouraged to grab their best monster friend, evil lawn gnomes, and other minutia of the macabre and give them a big squeeze. Hug them in public, in private, or in front of cameras and share with the world.

And from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, the grown-ups are invited to ZaPow! for their own monster fun. Bring Your Own Monsters (BYOM) as the festivities continue. Monster folk musician Ben Wilson will play his collection of zany songs that will terrify you as you howl with laughter. Pose with your favorite beast or mutant in the photo booth. Prizes will be awarded.
