harry-potter and the soccers stone

Harry Potter is quite possibly one of the best books to ever be written in the children’s fantasy genre. Everyone knows about this story: it’s kind of the Amazon.com of children’s books…it’s everywhere. Harry Potter is a very miserable and lonely boy, he is shunned by his relatives and he is forced to sleep in the cupboard underneath the stairs.

On his 11th birthday, a giant named Hagrid informs Harry that he is actually a wizard and that he will be attending the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, not to mention that he also learns that he is a hero in the wizarding world.

About Hogwarts
When Harry learns about this, he is overjoyed and he can’t wait to start. He befriends Ronald Weasley and Hermione Granger. Things quickly take a turn for the worst when a troll breaks out of the Hogwarts dungeon and as the year progresses, they soon find out that Hogwarts has a lot of secrets that are yet to be discovered. This includes a three-headed dog named Fluffy, and that it is guarding the Sorcerer’s Stone. When Harry finds out that someone is trying to steal it, he and his friends take very quick action to try and find out who, and most of all, why.

Harry Potter and Voldemort
Harry and his friends go deep into the school and it is there where Harry is forced to do battle with the very wizard who tried to kill him as a child. He is able to save the stone, although he nearly gave his own life in the process. This is just the start of things for Harry Potter, and year after year he is faced with new challenges.

Things get worse and worse for him, yet the books are written with children in-mind and this makes them a great read for just about anyone who loves a good fantasy book. There are plenty of Harry Potter books out and the series has now ended, with the last one being entitled The Deathly Hallows.

J. K. Rowling has done a fantastic job writing these books and she really has created an entire world that kids can escape to when they go to bed at night.
