Local author Megan Shepherd, whose debut YA novel The Madman’s Daughter has just been published by Harper Collins (and has been optioned for a movie), is presenting a publishing workshop at Spellbound on Sunday March 3rd at 5:30pm.
“Intro to the Publishing Process” will include Megan’s advice about writing queries, as well as finding an agent, self publishing vs traditional publishing, and other topics of importance to writers just launching their careers. The presentation will last about 30 minutes, with another 30 minutes set aside for Q&A afterward.
Seeing as Megan’s very first book garnered a three-book deal with a major publisher plus a movie deal, it’s a good bet that she has some helpful insights! The information presented will be useful for writers with any target audience, not just young adult.
Because The Madman’s Daughter is our March selection for the ROYAL Book Club (Megan will be joining us at the meeting), it is available at Spellbound for 20% off retail price now through March 3rd. The workshop is free with your purchase of The Madman’s Daughter OR $10 at the door.
