Spellbound has been in business since 2004 and has been a part of our customers’ lives and a contributing member of the community for almost a decade. In order to survive the recession, we had to move and downsize to reduce expenses. Now, we are ready to grow again to better serve our customers and the larger community. It’s something our customers have been asking for and waiting for…we know we have the moral support. Now we’re asking you to please translate that into action.

THE RULES:

You must refer from our IndieGoGo campaign page using the share tools there, and you must be either logged in with your own IndieGoGo account or have already contributed to our campaign. These are the only two ways IndieGoGo can track your referral stats. What we are tracking is the number of your referrals that end up making contributions (not the dollar amount).

Lots of Free Books!

Your prize will be a lovely gift basket of 12 free books. You can choose to have them mailed out monthly to you or a gift recipient as a free Spellbound book-of-the-month club subscription, or we will ship all the books at once. Your choice of reading level (picture books, middle grade, teen, or even adult books), and you can pick the titles you want or ask us to choose some titles we recommend for you.

THE FINE PRINT:

We will give away a dozen books of average price (up to $25 retail value each)–not a dozen $100 high-end art books, text books, etc. Value of this prize will be roughly equal to the retail value of a one-year subscription to our hardcover book-of-the-month club (US $250). You may opt for any mixture of paperback and hardcover titles, as long as the total retail value of the books does not exceed $250.

- 20% discount for school purchases to be used in classroom or library (Be prepared for us to confirm these purchases with school office–can be made with school purchase order or with personal funds from school staff seeking reimbursement from school.)

- 10% discount for teachers and media center staff who are currently employed at a local school (Asheville City, Buncombe County, or local charter and private schools). This discount can be applied to purchases for personal or school use. Must reapply annually.

We also participate in the Go Local card which supports the Asheville City Schools Foundation.

Spellbound is happy to offer fundraising book fairs to local schools, as well. Recently we have run book fairs for Odyssey Community School, Eastfield Elementary, Hall Fletcher Elementary, and Hanger Hall School for girls. Please contact us three to six months ahead of your desired dates to schedule a book fair. We can present you with a suggested list of titles or you can customize selections based on your school’s required reading lists or other needs.

Spellbound often contributes gift certificates and other donations to other fundraising efforts held by local schools, from prizes for spelling bees to auction items. We have been supporting local schools in these and other ways since 2004, and we are always happy to hear from you about what Spellbound can do for your school.
